The incident happened at Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International Airport in South Africa.

After losing a wheel during takeoff, a Boeing 737 had to make an emergency landing, igniting controversy once more.
The event happened on Sunday at Johannesburg, South Africa’s OR Tambo International Airport.

Shortly after taking off from the same airport, a user on social networking platform X posted a video showing smoke coming out of one of the wheels during the FlySafair flight’s runway landing.

Pictures on X also revealed some damage to the right wing and undercarriage.

FlySafair, a South African carrier, claimed, “The flight safely landed back at OR Tambo and no injuries were reported.”

A representative for the airline stated that after being informed of the observation, the crew decided to head back to Johannesburg.

“FA212 adjusted course back for Johannesburg and entered a holding pattern near Parys to burn off some fuel to lighten the aircraft for landing,” Kirby Gordon informed the local press.

After that, the passengers were sent to Cape Town on a backup aircraft.
