The two events involving a student and an instructor have left the Gauteng Department of Education in grief.

According to reports, a Hyde Park Secondary School grade 12 teacher was discovered hanging in the school’s sports area yesterday.

Tuesday, after a rugby match, a Jeppe High School for Boys student in Grade 11 passed away.

The trainee reportedly felt unwell following the match.

“Our Psycho-Social Support Unit has been dispatched to both schools for necessary trauma counselling and support,” says Steve Mabona, a spokesman for Gauteng Education. We want to express our profound sorrow for the families of the deceased as well as our sympathies to the school communities affected by these awful events.
