We honestly didn’t believe Doja Cat could surpass her costume from the previous year’s Met Gala, where she dressed like a cat and spoke only in meows during the interview, but she did!
Let’s take time to appreciate Doja’s 2024 Met Gala after-party atmosphere, which included what appears to be a sheer shapewear-inspired piece by Vetements. We’ll talk about her many amazing looks on the carpet shortly.
Love this, especially in light of the narrative she told last night on the red carpet, which seemed to have a {getting ready theme}. Doja created a splash by arriving at the Met wearing a towel and some jewels and sporting dramatic makeup that appeared to be flowing mascara:
She afterward changed into a soaked Vetements t-shirt:
On the carpet, Doja discussed her appearance with Emma Chamberlain, stating, “Hopefully you have a towel, my hand is soaking wet in hair gel.” Yes, hair gel and water are the only ingredients. It hurts when I’m cold.”
“I think you just go in the opposite direction that you went in before, right?” Doja asked in reference to her attire. For the last one, I completed all of the prostheses, and I wore a heavy dress with a lot of beading and other embellishments. We simply veered completely to the other side. That, in my opinion, is what made it thrilling.
Doja commented, “Today I kind of just feel like me but in a very sexy sexy way.” She also mentioned that she and the Vetements crew “thought that would be very poetic without it being on the nose and wanted to go with a wet t-shirt because cotton is the most used flower.” The T-shirt is another example of a timeless article of apparel. It is the most classic item of apparel since it is timeless.”
