Bloem Football Academy to be Founded by Former Bafana Bafana Player

With his academy scheduled to officially open in April, former Bafana Bafana and Crystal Palace midfielder Kagisho Dikgacoi is well on his way to fulfilling his dream of making a positive impact on South African football.

Despite not being in the public eye since hanging up his boots in 2018, Dikgacoi, 39, has been putting in a lot of effort behind the scenes to create the Kagisho Dikgacoi Academy of Excellence.

Based in the Free State of Bloemfontein

The academy’s U-10, U-13, U-15, and U-17 divisions will be housed in Bloemfontein, Free State.

Dikgacoi gave an exclusive interview to Sunday World on Friday. According to him, the academy’s primary goal is to support South African football. to generate Teboho Mokoena and Hareaipha “Simba” Marumo, the province’s future leaders.

“I’m thrilled to finally announce the opening of my football academy. On April 27, it will premiere in Bloemfontein, according to Dikgacoi.

“At this time, we will just work on the weekends and won’t be housing any players. This is because schools will have already opened by the time we get going.

The Goal is to Develop Talent

More than everything, the academy wants to develop and showcase Bloem’s ability as much as possible. additionally on a national and, ideally, worldwide level. this by providing them with all the fundamentals and methods.

Additionally, we hope to rekindle Bloem residents’ enthusiasm for football. As is well known, the Bloemfontein Celtics are no longer in existence.

In the Free State, Harmony Sports Academy has been successful in turning forth players of the caliber of Teboho Mokoena.

“There were people like Hareaipha Marumo before Tebza. We aim to elevate it to an entirely new plane, though, because we are renowned for turning out excellent players.

Badges for Coaching

In addition to finishing his CAF C license, Dikgacoi is working on his coaching badges. this following the recent acquisition of the English FA Scouting license and CAF D.

The former English Premier League player for Fulham and Palace stated that his academy’s primary focus is on grassroots development. This is in spite of his side pursuit of his coaching certifications.

He continued, “I have not finished my UEFA B license; I am currently working on my CAF C license.”

“The primary goal is to actively participate in grassroots growth and serve as the academy’s technical director. Despite the fact that obtaining every qualification possible is the goal.
