British Teenagers Were Saved From Kidnappers Unharmed

Brit teens, Zahraa Mohammed (17) and Bataviya Mohammed (19), kidnapped on 6 March, have been found safe and unharmed.

The British teenagers who were abducted on March 6th, Zahraa Mohammed (17) and Bataviya Mohammed (19), have been discovered secure and unhurt. After being abducted on March 6, 2024, the cousins Zahraa Mohammed (17) and Bataviya Mohammed (19) have been found safely, exhibiting admirable cooperation and tenacity.

North West Provincial Commissioner of Police, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena, commended law enforcement agencies for their cooperative efforts. On March 25, in the evening, they discovered the cousins at a home in New Stands, Klipgat, close to Winterveldt and Mabopane.

Commissioner Appreciates Team Work in the Rescue of Kidnapped Teens

“The multi-disciplinary team comprising of Provincial Organised Crime, Head Office Anti-Kidnapping Unit, Bojanala Platinum Sub-District 2 Task Team, and Brits Crime Intelligence worked tirelessly to locate the cousins,” Lieutenant General Kwena said in expressing gratitude.

Six individuals were captured during the operation, while the seventh, 48-year-old Humphrey Martin, was taken into custody in the early hours of March 8 in Johannesburg. Martin has also subsequently made several appearances before the Brits Magistrates’ Court and is being held while additional judicial actions are taken.

The victims were evaluated by paramedics at the Klipgat police station’s Victims Friendly Room (VFR) after their trauma. They discovered that although they were traumatized and exhausted, they were generally in good condition. They also appeared to be in good health when they were securely reunited with their family.

Unfolding the Accident

The perpetrators in the kidnapping incident forced the victims’ automobile to halt with a maroon Audi A3. The cousins were apparently ordered into a white Volkswagen Polo GTI by two armed males. The Audi driver got into a Toyota Hilux that Humphrey Martin was purportedly driving.

The victims’ Mercedes Benz and the stolen Audi A3 were left behind as the suspects and the victims left the area. The Audi A3 was reported stolen in March of the same year in Garsfontein, according to preliminary findings. It is anticipated that the accused will be charged in court with kidnapping and extortion.

A Clear Message is Sent by Police Commissioner: Criminals Will be Exposed

Declaring, “The arrests will without doubt sound a warning that those who commit crimes have no place to hide in society and will be exposed,” Lieutenant General Kwena emphasized the importance of the arrests.

The case was successfully resolved, which is evidence of the commitment of law enforcement. It also demonstrates how well they work to protect residents’ safety and security.
