Prominent education business Curro Holdings quickly recognized and responded to a contentious social media post on X that propagated improper stereotypes by showing youngsters in various professions in the workplace.

The image of a white youngster as a veterinarian and a black child as a cashier in the now-deleted post caused controversy.

Curro Holdings is Sorry About the Post

Curro Holdings posted an apology on Facebook for the offense caused and reaffirmed their commitment to diversity and anti-racism in their schools in response to the outcry.

“We sincerely regret for the offense caused and are quickly following our internal procedures to fully understand the circumstances of the post to ensure that such an error is not repeated in the future,” Curro Holdings said in a statement.

Accusations of Racism Plague the Institution

Additionally, Curro Holdings has been involved in a number of scandals recently, including claims of racism at Curro Protea Glen in Soweto. This incident comes after a run of such scandals.

The school suspended an instructor earlier this year due to allegations of racism, which heightened worries about racial prejudice in the organization.

The South African also revealed that Curro Holdings had experienced racism in the past in its schools, citing a situation in which the executive head of Curro Protea Glen was suspended for speaking disparagingly about a teacher. The incident emphasized persistent issues relating to racial sensitivity and diversity within the organisation.

Amidst Claims of Racism, the Institution Suspends the Teacher in a Subtle Manner

Curro Holdings promptly responded to the teacher’s narrative of calling students monkeys by suspending the offending teacher and initiating a disciplinary investigation in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.

Curro pledges to offer counseling or other support to the affected learners after speaking with their parents, the institution added, highlighting the company’s dedication to helping the impacted students and their families.
