Da Election Advertisement, According to Maimane, "Shows Party Has Issue With New South Africa."

Mmusi Maimane, the head of Build One South Africa, was the most recent politician to voice disappointment over the DA’s most recent election advertisement on Wednesday.

The DA has been under fire for the advertisement from a few places, and on Tuesday, President Cyril Ramaphosa added his dissatisfaction to the chorus.

The brief advertisement features a picture of the South African flag catching fire.

Speaking to the media during the advertisement’s premiere on Sunday night, Democratic Alliance leader John Steenhuisen stated that the party aimed to provide a dire alert regarding the dangers facing the nation in advance of the May 29 election.

Former DA leader Maimane claimed that the party’s activities are simply undermining South Africa’s transition to democracy.

“The DA would never have produced an advertisement featuring them burning the apartheid flag while the government was in power. Clearly, the new South Africa is the source of their initial grievance.

“At the end of the day, regardless of the electoral outcomes, we remain South Africans, and South Africa must remain above any organisation,” he stated.
