Due to Darkness, RBC Heritage Final Round Stopped

The RBC Heritage’s final round at Harbour Town Golf Links will resume Monday at 8 a.m. ET with Scottie Scheffler leading after 15 holes. Scheffler’s last three holes may be easy.

Scheffler, seeking his fourth PGA TOUR win in five starts, recovered from a hooked 4-iron second shot on the par-4 15th with a magic wedge to 11 feet for an unlikely par to maintain a five-stroke lead over Wyndham Clark, Patrick Cantlay, J.T. Poston, and Sahith Theegala in the waning twilight Sunday.

Scheffler, seeking his fourth PGA TOUR triumph in five appearances, was 20 under for the tournament when the final round was delayed at 7:45 p.m. Sunday on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, owing to darkness. Nine players were yet to finish.

Austin Eckroat won the Cognizant Classic at The Palm Beaches, the first unplanned Monday finish of the season. After Sunday and Monday were canceled, the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, won by Wyndham Clark, was truncated to 54 holes.

Lightning halted Sunday’s Harbour Town game at 4:28 p.m. The final pairing of Scheffler and Sepp Straka had played 11 holes. After 2 hours and 32 minutes, play resumed at 7 p.m. after players were removed off the course.
