Thirteen more persons were taken by ambulance to All Saints Hospital, where they are receiving medical attention for a range of ailments.

The relatives of the deceased have received the sincere condolences of the Department of Health.

Emergency medical services professionals and other rescue workers are still actively engaged in the search and rescue, according to Mkhululi Ndamase, the spokeswoman for the Health MEC.

This tragedy occurs in the same week that another building in George collapsed, resulting in the discovery of at least 12 people’s deaths beneath the debris.

Forty-one individuals remain unaccounted for.
