Fans Reaction to Tyla’s Kelvin Momo Feature

Tyla

Tyla’s recently released album of the same name is quickly gaining popularity. However, her Kelvin Momo feature has disappointed some fans.

The first album release date for Tyla Seethal has finally arrived, much to the delight of her devoted fan base. The singer, who was born in South Africa, shot to stardom when her song “Water” became widely popular on social media. The song’s dance challenge attracted millions of TikTok users, and soon after, American rapper Travis Scott appeared in a remix of it.

She later said that her world tour had been postponed because of “an injury that has tragically worsened.” She went on to win a Grammy for the song.

Tyla has been promoting the release of her self-titled album, TYLA, over the past few weeks. The record contains prominent international artists such as Tems, Becky G, Gunna, Skillibeng, and Mzansi producer Kelvin Momo.

Although the album has so far garnered positive reviews, many residents are denouncing the Kelvin Momo inclusion as “trash.”

Tyla Hits the Airwaves at Last

The people of South Africa are extremely proud of Tyla, who is one of the biggest singers to come out of the country. The vocalist won a Grammy Award and achieved global recognition with her popular song Water. And now Tyla, her first studio album, is officially available.

The star-studded lineup of the album, which was published on Fax and Epic Records, includes rapper Travis Scott, singer Becky G, American rapper Gunna, and Nigerian hitmaker Tems. She worked locally with the popular Amalobolo hitmaker Kelvin Momo, who is well-liked by fans of the amapiano genre.

Not “Oomph” Enough?

Fans, though, have been a little let down by the album’s interlude, Intro. Many have claimed that, at just 41 seconds long, it doesn’t provide enough, especially in light of Kelvin Momo’s size.

“Kelvin Momo and Tyla, what did we do to deserve [sic]? Can we please have the full song, that intro voice note is not enough,” a fan commented on X (previously Twitter).

Another penned:

“To be honest, I thought Tyla’s intro was a complete disaster. Instead of introducing the world to watered-down versions of amapiano, that’s what everyone has been hearing,”
