The late Luke Fleurs’s girlfriend from Kaizer Chiefs has spoken out about his tragic and unexpected passing.
In a devastating video, Lailaa Craayenstein, Luke Fleurs’s girlfriend, broke her silence over his passing. The Kaizer Chiefs footballer was shot and killed last week during a poorly executed hijacking.
The soccer player had taken his VW Gold 8 GTI to a Honeydew, Johannesburg, gas station at the time of the incident.
Although he had signed a contract to transfer from SuperSport United to Amakhosi late last year, the 24-year-old had not yet made his league debut.

Lailaa Craayenstein expressed her grief at Luke Fleurs’ passing in a video montage that she released on her TikTok account.
“We had intentions, but God had other ideas,” she wrote on social media alongside the deceased celebrity.
“You come to realise that some things you haven’t accepted yet because there’s a thin line between accepting something and suppressing it,” she wrote as the post’s caption.
There is a fine line between overcoming and avoiding something. a brief window of time spanning today and tomorrow. Additionally, there is a narrower window of time between simply thinking about checking up on someone and not following through.
“I feel guilty, angry, frustrated, and most importantly, powerless,” she said. Because all I could do was determine whether the next step is on the acceptance or suppression side of the line. Sorry this world broke you, I really do. Peace be with you. In this life as well as the next.

Sydni, the sister of Luke Fleurs, has also talked about her anguish and wrath after her brother’s passing. She wrote, “I hate this car, I hate this life,” on her Instagram Stories after sharing a photo of her sibling and his VW Golf.
Luke Fleurs’ Shot While Trying to Save His Car
Sunday World reports that Luke Fleurs was shot in the chest at close range while attempting to fend off his hijackers.
An unnamed source claims that the hijackers, who had followed the Kaizer Chiefs player to a Honeydew gas station in a white BMW 1 Series, forced him out of his vehicle.
According to the source, “Fleurs’ car was about to be taken by the two hijackers when he ran after it and engaged them in combat.” The hijacker was in the driver’s seat when he went to his car, seized the door, and attempted to get rid of him.
He struggled with them and attempted to maneuver his vehicle, nearly running into the walls of the gas station. After overwhelming him, one of them gave him a close-range gunshot wound to the left side of his chest.
