In a Durban Gunfight, Four Murder Suspects Were Fatally Injured

Four individuals who are wanted for murder have been shot and killed by police in Durban.

According to Robert Netshiunda, a spokesman for KwaZulu-Natal police, they were wanted for a number of offenses, including the killing of a man in Cato Crest last week.

According to Netshiunda, while police were investigating a tip that the suspects were renting a room in Cato Crest, they were ambushed.

“The suspects opened fire as the police made their presence known, however one police officer was spared when they shot at him thanks to his bulletproof vest. All four of the suspects inside the room were shot by the police, who then returned fire, leaving them critically injured. The suspects were discovered to be in possession of two firearms. It is also thought that the culprits left the Inanda region when they became aware that the police were pursuing them.
