Detectives investigating serious violent crimes in the Western Cape have been busy since gunmen opened fire on a barbershop on Saturday afternoon in Qwarha Street in Site C, Khayelitsha.

“The shooting claimed the lives of three children, ages five, eleven, and twelve, as well as a 30-year-old male. Seven other people suffered critical injuries. There were two others who were not injured. The suspects, who are 24 and 28 years old, will appear in the Khayelitsha Magistrate’s Court on Friday to answer to accusations of murder and attempted murder.

Service delivery is currently impacted by the township’s high crime rate.

Eskom’s personnel were targeted, hence the company has temporarily halted activities in e-Ndlovini.

On Sunday, armed guys targeted the technicians.

Although they were able to flee, their car sustained damage.

According to Eskom spokesman Kyle Cookson, they were forced to remove their employees from the hazardous circumstance.

“This disruption will result in service delivery delays, which could cause customers to go without electricity for extended periods of time.” When services can restart, Eskom will work with local authorities to conduct a full investigation into the occurrence. Eskom emphasizes that employee safety is its top priority and vehemently condemns violence.
