ANC councillor shot and killed in Mpumalanga

Following the Tuesday night shooting death of an ANC councillor, the Mpumalanga police are looking into a case of murder and robbery.

The council member from Nkomazi Local Municipality was shot and killed at his house.

According to reports, four criminals broke into the home, shot the 35-year-old council member, and beat his wife.

The thieves took the victim’s bakkie and cell phones and left the scene, according to police spokesperson Donald Mdhluli.

According to additional reports, the armed suspects shot the 35-year-old man while donning balaclavas before making off with the stolen goods.

After being transported in a private vehicle to a neighboring hospital, the male victim passed away from his wounds. The police are working diligently to make sure that suspects are located and taken into custody; as of yet, no one has been taken into custody.

The killing’s motivation is currently unknown.
