Jackie Phamotse has been sentenced to house arrest for two years

Due to her offensive remarks on Twitter on Romeo Kumalo and Basetsana, Jackie Phamotse was fined R30,000, which equates to 10 months in prison, and sentenced to two years of home arrest.

Phamotse faces a punishment of R30,000 or 10 months in prison in addition to being placed under home arrest for a period of two years for her actions.

She will also be required to take part in a number of programs and perform 16 hours of community service each month.

Although Phamotse had not demonstrated any remorse, Magistrate S. Naidoo found in her ruling that imprisonment would not be suitable.
