Kobus Wiese, a Former Springbok Brought Attention to a Heated “Gender Swap” School Day

Former Springbok Kobus Wiese has highlighted a controversial ‘gender swap’ school day.

Former Springbok Kobus Wiese posted what appeared to be a letter to parents on X, the platform that was once known as Twitter, on Monday, informing them of a planned “gender swap” at a primary school in South Africa. It appears from the letter that although “boys are to wear girls clothes, and girls are to wear boys clothes,” it will be a “normal school day.”

Wiese used the acronym WTF (What The F**k) to comment on the letter and then retweeted many angry responses. In response to his tweet, Ryan Kankowski, another former Springbok, wrote, “Surely this is a joke?”

Legendary BOK

In addition to playing in 18 Test matches for the Springboks, Kobus Wiese was a member of the 1995 World Cup winning squad, beginning the match against New Zealand at lock.

Wiese played 135 games for Transvaal and the Lions during his tenure in the province, which lasted from 1988 to 1996. He was a part of the Transvaal team that went on to win the Super 10 and the Currie Cup in 1993. The following year, he was awarded another Currie Cup winners medal.

He currently has 45 franchisees for the wildly popular Wiesenhof Coffees across the nation. In addition, he works as a consultant, TV presenter, and commentator.
