Latest suspect in Joslin Smith’s Case Arrives in Court and is Remanded in Custody

Remanded in custody is the most recent suspect apprehended in relation to Joslin Smith’s disappearance.

A 32-year-old woman has been placed under arrest supervision after being apprehended in relation to the six-year-old Joslin Smith’s disappearance.

The woman was taken into custody on Friday, March 15, and on Monday, March 18, she showed up at the Vredenburg Magistrates Court.

A Woman is Charged in Relative to Joslin Smith’s Disappearance

The six-year-old girl vanished from her house in Diazville, Saldanha Bay on February 19, as The South African previously reported. She was being looked after by her mother’s boyfriend at the time.

To help in the search, the South African Police Service (SAPS) and other law enforcement organizations have sent out personnel and other resources.

Lawrencia Lombard, a resident of Saldanha Bay as well, was accused of kidnapping and human trafficking on Monday. On Monday, March 25, Lombard will appear in court again to make a bail request.

Among the people detained in relation to Joslin’s disappearance are her boyfriend and mother, Kelly Smith. There have been rumors circulating that she was sold for R20,000.

The Bail Requests of the Three Defendants Have Been Withdrawn

Charges against Plumza Sigawa are withdrawn by the state. The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) verified on March 13th, Wednesday, that Phumza Sigaqa’s accusations against the State had been withdrawn.

There is no proof against her, but since the inquiry is continuing, charges could be brought back against her in the future, according to Eric Ntabazalila, the NPA spokesperson for the Western Cape.

Little Joslin Smith is still missing after extensive search efforts.
