Limpopo Police Bust a Drug Ring Worth R3.5m

In Burgersfort, a cargo of cannabis with a street value of R3.5 million was found by Limpopo Police.

On Friday, the R37 route saw the narcotics bust.

During a roadblock, a bakkie headed from Lyndenburg to Burgersfort was pulled over by the police.

“Once the driver took off, the cops pursued them. He abandoned the car and took off running after recognizing he was being encircled, according to police spokeswoman Malesela Ledwaba.

“Upon further investigation, it was revealed that the vehicle was carrying 13 bails of dagga and 46 plastic of dagga sealed with a compressor, weighing about 711kg.”

“The vehicle was also confiscated as part of the investigation,” he said.
