Loadshedding is Still in Place Following an 18-day Run.

Eskom, a power company, has suspended loadshedding indefinitely.

Eskom spokesperson Daphne Mokwena ascribed the ongoing availability of generation capacity and emergency reserves for the continuance of suspended loadshedding in a brief statement issued on Sunday.

“By Monday, it is anticipated that 2 150MW of generation capacity will be restored.

“Eskom will provide an update on Wednesday afternoon or promptly communicate any significant changes should they occur.”

The 18 days during the 2023 Festive Season without the system being in place are followed by this run of loadshedding-free days.
