Luke Fleurs of Kaizer Chiefs Was Shot and Killed During a Hijacking

Luke Fleurs, a soccer player for Kaizer Chiefs, was killed on Wednesday night in Honeydew, according to Gauteng Police.

Fleurs, 24, was shot and died during a hijacking at a gas station in Johannesburg’s northwest.

He was shot once in the upper torso while he was at the gas station on 14th Avenue, near Hendrik Potgieter, in a red VW Golf 8 GTI.

Speaking on behalf of the police, Mavela Masondo claims that one of the suspects drove off in Fleurs’ vehicle.

“While waiting for medical attention, the 24-year-old was approached by two armed men who pulled up in a white BMW 1 Series.

“One suspect and his accomplice took off driving the victim’s automobile. After being brought to the closest medical facility, the man was declared dead when he arrived. No arrests have been made as of yet in the murder and vehicle hijacking case that the police have filed for investigation.”

Fleurs enrolled in the Ubuntu Cape Town Academy in 2013, marking the start of his soccer career.
