Mokwena concentrating on Nedbank, Unclear About Caf tie vs. Yanga

Rulani Mokwena, the coach of Mamelodi Sundowns, is uncertain about the Caf Champions League matchup against Yanga since he is concentrated on the Nedbank.

Coach Rulani Mokwena is unsure of Mamelodi Sundowns’ matchup with Young Africans, Yanga in the CAF Champions League. Mokwena claims to have watched Tuesday’s Caf draw, but he is unclear about the tie versus Yanga.

Though his attention is on the Nedbank Cup, the astute Sundowns manager says he would be constantly monitoring the opponents for the tie.

This weekend, Masandawana and Maritzburg United will play a Nedbank match in an attempt to advance Mokwena to the Last Eight.

Although Caf has not officially revealed the dates for Mokwena’s matchup with Yanga in the Last Eight, the matchup is scheduled for this month.

Sundowns Boss Unsure of Yanga Clash in CAF Last Eight Days

After a goalless draw with SuperSport United, Mokwena is now focused on Sunday’s Nedbank match.

Mokwena would rather appreciate each and every Caf tie, despite the opinions of many that Yanga are an easy opponent for Sundowns.

Regarding Yanga, Mokwena tells SABC Sport, “I’m not so sure about my thoughts on the Champions League draw.”

“I watched the draw, of course, but I can’t tell you what came to mind right away.

“Because I need to keep a close eye on the opposition.”

“I have watched every matchup and every game in the Champions League.”

“However, I watched as a coach rather than an analyst, and I now need to change.”

In order to analyze Yanga, the 37-year-old trainer Mokwena is counting on the impending FIFA international break.

Who are the Next Opponents of Sundowns?

Under Miguel Gamondi, the former Sundowns coach, Yanga, an East African team, are leading the Tanzanian Premier League at the moment.

“They have a good coach in Miguel Gamondi; he was at Sundowns,” Mokwena says in reference to Yanga’s CAF matchup.

“A highly structured team that is extremely well-organized.”

So, before I draw any conclusions, let’s see.

“Because I have to concentrate now on our upcoming, difficult game against Maritzburg.”

At Lucas Moripe Stadium, Mowkena will host the Team of Choice, who are still undefeated in the league.
