Nedbank: Mokwena Compliments the Identities of Klate and La Masia

As they prepare to play in the Nedbank Cup, Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena highlights the individuality of La Masia and his opponent Daine Klate.

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena is praising legend Daine Klate profusely for fostering a sense of identity at La Masia.

Tuesday’s Nedbank Cup match between Sundowns and Masia is on the road, and Mokwena notes that Klate has contributed significantly on the side.

The Motsepe Foundation Championship is being contested by the Westbury-based team Masia, and Mokwena appears to be leery of Klate’s guys.

La Masia, led by Klate and the legendary Moeneeb Josephs, is determined to shock Sundowns, the current DStv Premiership champions.

Mokwena contends that Klate, the former star of the Orlando Pirates, has brought a distinct personality to La Masia since his hiring.

Why Sundowns Mentor Mokowena Gives Huge Praise for LA MASIA and KLATE

Klate also feels that his youthful guns, who are prepared to take on Masandawana, should be honored to play Sundowns.

The mentor of Sundowns is pleased that Klate, a former winger from Gqeberha, regards Mokwena as his role model.

When it comes to Klate and La Masia’s identity, Mokwena remarks, “I look at the team and when I watched La Masia play I already see the stamp of a coach.”

“They perform a great deal of excellent work, whether it’s Virgil Vries setting up goals or Allesandro Du Plessis using his left foot.

“The build-up is the same type of skims.”

MOKWENA IS Selected by Klate as his role model.

Mokwena of Sundowns is a year older than Klate, the former coach of Chippa United, but the 37-year-old has more coaching experience.

The former SuperSport United winger helped Mokwena launch his career, and he’s eager to find out more.
Regarding Klate’s identity at Masia, Mokwena continues, “To be honest, I don’t think that I am worthy of that, and I don’t think I can enjoy that type of responsibility at this point in my career.”

“I believe I still have a great deal to learn.

“I believe I still have a great deal of journey ahead of me.

Only Daine, who was presumably one of the players I used to watch, can speak for me.

And I think his qualities are extremely admirable. That is something I can only accept very humblely.
