water outage

There will be an 11-hour outage on Wednesday, March 27 due to scheduled maintenance involving water in Johannesburg. The time slot for the maintenance is set for 8:00 to 19:00.

An 11-Hour Outage Will Result From Johannesburg Water Maintenance

The closure coincides with ongoing water problems in a number of Johannesburg neighborhoods. But according to City of Johannesburg Mayor Kabelo Gwamanda, there isn’t a crisis in the Gold City.

The Daily Maverick was informed by Gwamanda that there had been water interruptions in a number of metro districts at one point. A number of variables, including power outages, vandalism, infrastructure theft, etc., have been isolated or connected to these.

The Wednesday closure will have an impact on the following areas:

  • Clive
  • Deli
  • Esmeralda
  • Mulbarton
  • Maria
  • Vinston
  • Ottawa
  • Pommern Streets

Water tankers will be supplied as needed throughout the maintenance, according to Johannesburg Water.
