Nico Rebebe an Ex-Windhoek Employee Who Reportedly Engineered a Multi-Million Dollar Heist at the Bank, Has Been Remanded in Custody

Former Bank Windhoek Employee Nico Rebebe, Who Reportedly Engineered a Multi-Million Dollar Heist at the Bank, has been remanded in custody, and his hearing has been postponed to the 11th of April.

Nico Rebebe was charged in January with 200 million N$ worth of fraud from the Opuwo branch of Bank Windhoek.

Earlier according to Namibian Sun News on 19th of March “Banker Nico Rebebe, who allegedly stole N$2 million from Bank Windhoek’s Opuwo branch in January and going missing for 54 days, was discharged from hospital yesterday. He sneaked back into Opuwo recently after running out of medical supplies while on the run.

Rebebe has been hospitalised since his arrest on 7 March. He is expected to make his first court appearance in the Opuwo Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.”
