This morning, Speaker of Parliament Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula’s application to stay her imminent arrest will be heard by the Pretoria High Court. She’s also asking to see the evidence that has been gathered against her.
An affidavit filed in court by NPA Advocate Bheki Manyathi claims that section 204 whistleblower Nombasa Ntsondwa-Ndhlovu offered bribes totaling R2.5 million in cash and other gifts, including a wig, to South Africa’s speaker of parliament, Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula, a member of the ruling African National Party (ANC).
During the time Nosiviwe Mapila-Nqakula was a defense minister, contracts worth approximately R210 million were awarded to Umkhombe Marine, the company owned by Nombasa Ntsondwa-Ndhlovu.
