Officially, as of 2024, Kaizer Chiefs Are the Worst Team in South Africa.

Kaizer Chiefs

The 2023–24 DStv Premiership season for Kaizer Chiefs ended in the worst way imaginable on Saturday.

Amakhosi was fighting for the eighth and last MTN8 berth in the standings going into the last round of matches.

However, the Glamour Boys dropped to 10th in the final standings after losing 2-0 to the Cape Town Spurs, who were demoted.

In their 14 games this calendar year, Kaizer Chiefs have only won two and drawn six times, making this their sixth loss of the year.

That was only 12 points, which was the fewest points any of the 16 clubs in the DStv Premiership in 2024 scored.

Untreated “Records”

This season, Kaizer Chiefs broke a lot of unwelcome “records,” according to The South African website.

The Soweto behemoth’s worst-ever result was tenth place.

This season, Amakhosi’s loss was their 12th (in 30 games), tying the record.

Their season-low goal total of 25 was also a “record,” as was their goal differential of -5.

36 league points for Kaizer Chiefs tied their lowest-ever return in all 28 seasons since the start of the professional era in the 1996–97 campaign.
