Oscar Pistorius’s First Photos Following His Release From Prison

At the Pretoria office of the Department of Correctional Services, the former Paralympian was pictured.

For the first time since his parole-related release from prison, the 37-year-old athlete was seen on camera on Monday morning.

Following the death of his model girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp early on Valentine’s Day in 2013, Pistorius received a prison term.

Following Netwerk24’s publication of the first worldwide-exclusive images of Pistorius outside the Department of Correctional Services office in Pretoria since his parole, pictures of the disgraced Paralympian have started circulating on social media.

Photographer Deaan Vivier of Netwerk24 took the images.

Since his rigorous parole conditions-imposed release in January, Pistorius has not been seen before.

The convicted murderer was seen with light-colored slacks, a grey jacket, brown shoes, a white button-up shirt, and dark sunglasses.

Pistorius was granted parole after a parole board determined that the 37-year-old was ready for social reintegration, according to Jacaranda FM News.

Pistorius is required to attend anger management and gender-based violence treatment sessions as part of his parole, which runs until the end of his term in 2029.

Early on Valentine’s Day 2013, Pistorius fired four shots through a locked bathroom door in his Pretoria home, killing his lover, Reeva Steenkamp.

After an extended trial and multiple appeals, he was convicted of murder in 2017 and sentenced to 13 years in prison.

He had entered a not-guilty plea, denied killing Steenkamp, and claimed he had mistaken her for a break-in victim.

However, Steenkamp declared that she was “at peace” in a statement that she made on Friday morning before Pistorius was freed.

“Has Reeva received justice? Has Oscar completed his sentence? If your loved one is never going to return, then justice is impossible, and serving your time won’t make Reeva come back. In the statement, she stated, “Those of us who are left behind are the ones enduring a life sentence.

“With the release of Oscar Pistorius on parole, my only desire is to be allowed to live my last years in peace with my focus remaining on the Reeva Rebecca Steenkamp Foundation, to continue Reeva’s legacy.”
