President Putin is Congratulated by President Ramaphosa on his Re-Election

Vladimir Putin, the head of the Russian Federation, has received congratulations from President Cyril Ramaphosa on his reelection to the office.

With 87% of the vote, President Putin easily won reelection on Sunday.

President Ramaphosa reaffirmed in a statement South Africa’s and the Russian Federation’s commitment to reciprocal cooperation at the global level, citing their shared participation in the G20, BRICS, the UN, and other multilateral organizations.

“In order to achieve enduring peace between the two neighboring countries, President Ramaphosa concluded by expressing South Africa’s strong belief in the maintenance of international peace and security and that South Africa will continue to engage both the Russian Federation and Republic of Ukraine,” the Presidency stated.
