R800k was Paid for Consulting Services Says AKA Murder Suspect

The R800,000 that was placed into Mziwethemba Gwabeni’s account, allegedly as payment for the contract killing, has been refuted.

According to the suspected mastermind behind the murder of rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes Mziwethemba Gwabeni, a respectable corporation placed R800,000 into his account. In the Durban Magistrate’s Court, Gwabeni is one of the seven suspects who are requesting bail.

AKA Murder Suspect Says That a Company Gave Them R800,000

There were rumors in February of this year that the suspects in the deaths of Forbes and his buddy Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane had received R800,000. Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, the Commissioner of the South African Police Service (SAPS) for KwaZulu-Natal, declined to verify the payment, however.

Following the reports, Mkhwanazi declared the seven individuals connected to AKA’s murder to be taken into custody. He also disclosed how each of the seven individuals contributed to the hit’s execution. A court filing made by KZN Public Prosecutions Director Elaine Harrison verified the R800 000, even though SAPS declined to comment on it.

Police said that Gwabeni, who owns Gwabs Mining in Mpumalanga and is supposedly a businessman, put together and paid the other accused. Each of the six had a distinct job, ranging from coordinator of escape vehicles to spotters. There were two shooters, two spotters, a coordinator, and someone who organized the cars and weapons.

Gwabeni’s attorney, Advocate Joe Wolmarans, read his affidavit in court on Tuesday, March 19. As per Gwabeni, the R803,000 that was deposited into his account came from a reliable company that he had previously transacted business with. He went on to say that it was for consulting services.

“To be precise, our connection dates back to three years ago,” his attorney remarked.

Extradition of Two Suspects is Now Going On

The extradition of two AKA murder suspects from the Kingdom of Eswatini was requested by South Africa, and the Department of Justice confirmed on Tuesday that Minister Ronald Lamola had authorized and forwarded the request.

The murder of AKA has been connected by the police to the two brothers, Siyabonga and Dave Ndimande. Following Forbes’s death, they allegedly escaped to the next nation.

In February, the two brothers were detained in Mbabane for unrelated offenses. They have made three appearances at Eswatini’s Manzini Magistrate’s Court.
