Ramaphosa Reveals the ANC’s Strategy to Lessen South Africans’ Financial Burden

The ANC launched its election manifesto

At the unveiling of the ANC manifesto on Saturday, President Cyril Ramaphosa outlined the party’s five-year plan, emphasizing its focus on alleviating South Africans’ financial difficulties.

President Ramaphosa spoke at the function and discussed the party’s plans to address rising living expenses. He also talked about the difficulties that middle-class people, jobless people, and employees confront.

“We will address basic needs like food, housing, healthcare, energy, and wages in order to make everyday life more affordable for workers, the unemployed, and the middle class,” President Ramaphosa declared.

ANC PRIORITIES ESSENTIAL SERVICES FOR IMPOVERISHED COMMUNITIES

The maintenance and growth of essential services that are subsidized is at the center of the ANC’s goal. This guarantees that impoverished people will continue to have access to basic resources like shelter and water.

In addition, the party wants to help impoverished households by providing rooftop solar panels, among other things.

President Ramaphosa declared, “We will continue to roll out our roof-top solar to indigent households.”

A major component of the ANC’s goal, which emphasizes improving services, is healthcare reform. Their goal with the National Health Insurance (NHI) program is to guarantee affordability.

President Ramaphosa emphasized, “We will implement the NHI and strengthen the health services to make health care affordable for everyone.”

To reduce economic inequality, the ANC promises to increase the National Minimum Wage yearly by small increments and to step up measures to ensure employer compliance.

President Ramaphosa promised, “As required by law, we will increase the National Minimum Wage every year and as and monitor implementation by employers.”

Ramaphosa: ANC Gives Income Support Priority

“We will strengthen income support, through existing social grants, and utilise the Social Relief of Distress Grant as a mechanism towards phasing in the basic income support grant,” President Ramaphosa added, underscoring the party’s commitment to helping those in need.

Ramaphosa Vows to Address the High Expense of Living

Prior to the national and provincial elections, ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa pledged to address the high cost of living by lowering the cost of living for employees, jobless people, and households headed by women.

At the ANC’s manifesto unveiling on Saturday at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban, Ramaphosa gave the keynote speech. He stated that the government’s top five goals include meeting basic requirements including food, shelter, healthcare, electricity, transportation, and wages.

Ramaphosa Vows to Reduce Food Prices and Improve Food Security

“(The ANC will) act against price fixing, support food security through land reform, lower the cost of food through VAT exemption on essential items, and support community and home gardens,” the statement read.

According to Ramaphosa, they would also preserve and grow the provision of subsidized basic services, like as electricity, water, and housing, for those living in poverty in order to guarantee that these services remain affordable.

We will Lower Medical Care Expenses – ANC

“We will promote cheaper or subsidized solar power to reduce energy bills, develop more human settlements with subsidies, implement the National Health Insurance to lower the cost of medical care, especially for the poor, introduce measures to regulate rental prices for student accommodation, and increase affordable rail and other commuter transport,” stated Ramaphosa.

In addition, he declared, the government would increase access to high-quality healthcare and education, promote the application of science and technology, and guarantee that everyone has access to adequate housing and basic utilities.

ANC Says that Government Departments Should  Have More Responsibility

According to Ramaphosa, the federal and provincial governments would have more duties to assist municipalities that find it difficult to serve their constituents.

He added that public servants who neglect to provide communities with basic amenities would face consequences from the ANC. “ANC Local Government keeps an eye on and takes action against public servants who do not perform,” he declared.
