Road Deaths Around Easter are Avoidable, According to the Mayor of Tshwane.

Tshwane mayor says Easter road fatalities are preventable

According to Cilliers Brink, the city mayor, and the Tshwane Metro Police (TMPD), traffic fatalities over the Easter weekend are avoidable. At the N1 Carousel Toll Plaza on Tuesday, the city and the national police began their Easter traffic safety activities.

This is due to the fact that thousands of South Africans are anticipated to travel over the Easter long weekend to various destinations. During the Easter period last year, 252 people died on the roadways.

Brink offered the following advice to make sure you travel safely:

  • Make sure the cars you drive are fit for the road.
  • Drive safely and without psychopathy.
  • Take your time arriving to your location.
  • Save your celebratory beverage at the very conclusion of the trip.
  • Avoid drinking and driving.

He claims that each of these elements makes it more difficult for you to maneuver your car or react to uncontrollable circumstances.
