Years after the rumors initially appeared, Rose Hanbury, the Marchioness of Cholmondeley, finally spoke out about the rumors that she had an affair with Prince William.
Rose Hanbury Speaks Out About the Rumors
In response to speculation that she had an affair with William, the Prince of Wales, Rose Hanbury has spoken out. Though there have long been rumors about the supposed affair, Hanbury gained popularity once more following Kate Middleton, the wife of Prince William, and her photo-editing scandal.
Hanbury is wed to the seventh Marquess of Cholmondeley, David Rocksavage. Together, the couple is parents to three kids. Through her attorneys, Hanbury told Business Insider that the rumors about her alleged affair are “completely false.” This coincided with wild speculations on social media about the Princess of Wales’ “disappearance” and conspiracy theories surrounding it.
How and When the Rumor Began
It was said that Prince William cheated on Kate Middleton with Hanbury when she was expecting their third child. InTouch, an American magazine, revealed in 2019 that Prince William might have had an affair with Hanbury. According to Harper Bazaar, there were rumors that Kate wanted Hanbury “phased out” of the social circle shortly after, which only served to fan the flames.
The reports were never verified, though.
The newspaper further claimed that when Kate supposedly confronted William, he dismissed her claims with a laugh. Following Kate’s embarrassing photo-editing incident, there were new rumors circulating that she had “disappeared.” According to Cosmopolitan, during a March 12 broadcast of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Colbert brought up the alleged romance.
The apparent absence of Kate Middleton has caused a stir in the Kingdom. Now, internet detectives are speculating that Kate’s disappearance might be connected to her husband, William, the future king of England, having an extramarital affair,” he claimed.
