Seven Suspects Involved in the Murder of AKA and Tibz Has Been Arrested

Rapper AKA was shot dead on February 10 in the popular Florida Road in Durban.

Following their departure from Wish Restaurant on Florida Road in Durban in February 2023, Forbes and Motsoane were killed. Two individuals were reportedly taken into custody on Saturday morning in Eswatini, according to the police.

Six persons have been detained, according to a statement made by KwaZulu-Natal police on Tuesday, regarding the deaths of Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and his buddy, famous chef Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane.

Chief police officers Bheki Cele and Lt-Gen Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi of KwaZulu-Natal police commissioner indicated that the first suspect had already been in court and had been detained as early as April 2023.

In relation to the deaths of Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and his buddy, well-known chef Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane, outside Wish on Florida Road in Durban in February of last year, police have confirmed the arrest of a seventh suspect. Six persons were detained on Tuesday, according to KwaZulu-Natal police, who said they were connected to the killings.

According to KwaZulu-Natal police commissioner Lt-Gen Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi and police minister Bheki Cele, the first suspect was apprehended in April 2023 and later appeared in court. Two individuals were detained in Eswatini on Saturday as part of the most recent arrests.

Once the arrests in Eswatini, police were looking for another suspect who was fugitive. A 30-year-old suspect was taken into custody, according to KZN police spokesperson Col Robert Netshiunda on Wednesday. With this, there are now seven people in custody in connection with the killings.

On Thursday, the Durban magistrate’s court will see the appearance of five accused.
