Springboks Announces Their Year-end Test Schedule

Springboks confirm end of year Test fixtures

When the Springboks conclude their year-end trip of the northern hemisphere in November, they will play Wales after facing Scotland and England.

On their year-end trip, which begins in November, the Springboks have confirmed that they will play Wales, Scotland, and England.

The double world champions will begin the tour on Sunday, November 10 in Edinburgh against Scotland, who are ranked sixth. This is the same team they faced in their opening match of the 2023 Rugby World Cup. Next, they will play England, who are currently ranked fifth in the world, in London on Saturday, November 16; Wales, who are ranked 10th, will play in Cardiff a week later on November 23.

This will be the Springboks’ first encounter with Scotland since their 18-3 triumph in Marseille in September of last year. It will also be their first game in Edinburgh since their 30-15 victory there in November 2021.

The Springboks’ most recent encounter was a record-breaking 52-16 triumph against Wales in Cardiff during a World Cup warm-up. Prior to that, they had played England at Twickenham in November 2022, winning 27-13.

The match against Wales, on the other hand, will be their second encounter with their Welsh counterparts this year. On Saturday, June 22, the teams will square off in the Springboks’ season-opening game at Twickenham.

“An Arduous Season Ahead” – Rassie Erasmus

“As a team we want to measure ourselves against the top sides in the world consistently, and facing Scotland, Wales, and England on the year-end tour, two of which we faced in the World Cup, will be fantastic for the team and the players,” said Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus in anticipation of an exciting tour in November.

Wales’ Six Nations season may have been disappointing, as Scotland won two of their five games and England won three, but we still know that we must play at our best when we play them because they are a formidable opponent at home.

With a home Test series against Ireland in the Incoming Series and New Zealand in the Rugby Championship, a Test against Portugal, and two matches against Australia and Argentina, Erasmus continued, “We have a tough season ahead of us.”

“We are really excited for the season, and we know that playing Scotland, England, and Wales at the end of the year will certainly spice things up for the team.”

In 2024, the Springboks have 13 Test matches scheduled.
