Stanley Nwabali Denies Rumors of a Transfer

Chippa United goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali.

Stanley Nwabali, the goalkeeper for Chippa United, claims that he has not got any offers from any clubs following his outstanding showing at the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON). Nwabali preserved four clean sheets while assisting Nigeria’s Super Eagles in making it to the championship game.

Ronwen Williams, the captain of Bafana Bafana, won the Golden Glove instead of the 27-year-old goalkeeper despite Williams’ five clean sheets. Numerous reports that have surfaced since the Afcon ended have connected the keeper to a departure from Chippa.

According to FARPost, Nwabali stated, “To be honest, I only see offers online. Some of my friends take screenshots, send them to me, and say that offer is coming.”

Chippa United to Remain Loyal to Stanley Nwabali

To be completely honest, though, I have never received any proposals. Still, you know that when there are rumors, I hope they all come true.

The keeper was warned by Nigerian media not to travel back to South Africa following his assistance in Nigeria’s semi-final victory over Bafana, but Nwabali dismissed the rumors.

Nwabali also expressed gratitude to Chippa Mpengesi, the head of his club, for helping him and Nigeria win the Afcon.

“I had many reasons to work at Afcon because the chairman was very communicative and even wished me well before his own nation.

I found it hard to accept and questioned why this individual would act in such a way. People are saying Stanley has to leave Chippa, but I genuinely admire him and, to be honest, I owe him a lot. Though I doubt that would happen, I would like to work with him for a further two years,” Nwabali continued.
