In the historic Soweto Derby, the Orlando Pirates and Moroka Swallows square battle on Wednesday night at Dobsonville Stadium.
The Buccaneers suffered their first loss of the year in all competitions on Saturday, falling short 3-2 to Sekhukhune United. They will aim to recover from this setback.
Pirates plummeted to fourth position, five points behind Stellenbosch FC, who defeated Kaizer Chiefs on Tuesday night, in second place.
With a close victory over Cape Town Spurs, who are currently in last place, on Sunday, Swallows improved their relegation resistance and moved up to 13th place from 14th.
The victory over the Urban Warriors put a stop to the Swallows’ four-match losing streak, capping an unpredictable campaign both on and off the field.
Ahead of the match, the Buccaneers have no injuries or suspensions to report, however the Swallows will be without forward Gabadinho Mhango due to a build-up of cards.
With a hat-trick from Monnapule Saleng, the Buccaneers defeated the Dube Birds 4-1 in the corresponding fixture from the previous season as well as in the first round matchup.
