The 2024 Election Manifesto Launch by the Congress of the People (Cope) Has Been Postponed

COPE manifesto

The Congress of the People Election manifesto has been officially postponed following the release of a statement by the Acting General Secretary of the party. The Statement reads below

“COPE postpone its 2024 Election Manifesto Launch
For immediate release
The Congress of the People would like to inform members of the media and its supporters of the postponement of the election manifesto launch.
The launch was expected to take place at Suurman Hall in Hammanskraal, Tshwane, tomorrow, 23 March 2024.
Following the announcement of our ‘readiness’ today, we have since received requests from potential partners who have expressed interest in collaborating with COPE and be part of the manifesto launch ahead of the 2024 general elections.
As a result, the number of supporters to be bused to the venue has increased and this has created capacity challenges as the venue may not be able to accommodate a host of supporters expected to attend.
The party’s national executive committee has taken a decision to postpone the launch to avoid potential disasters such as stampedes.
We wish to extend our sincere apologies for the inconvenience this may have caused and extend our gratitude for the ongoing support.
Ends.
