AKA Murder Suspect

Durban — The pregnant wife of one of the “AKA” murder suspects procured a fake medical note, which was included in her husband’s bail application, falsely declaring that he suffered from asthma.

This was disclosed by Senior State Advocate Elvis Gcweka on Wednesday during the bail application in the Durban High Court.

In his bail affidavit, Lindokuhle Thabani Mkhwanazi declared that he suffers from asthma and directed the court to a medical note that is appended to the paper. Additionally, he disclosed to the court that his spouse, a teacher, was expecting their first child.

“We were concerned as to how he had consulted the doctor, since it had a doctor’s stamp dated March 11 but the accused was already in custody on that date,” Gcweka stated.

“We got in touch with Dr. Moodley. According to him, a pregnant woman entered on March 11 along with a gentleman she recognized as Lindo Mkhwanazi.
