The Department of Higher Education Has Deregistered Damelin College, and Others Due to Noncompliance With Financial Statement Submission Requirements

The Department of Higher Education has deregistered Damelin College, CityVarsity, Lyceum Colleges, and Icesa City Campus due to noncompliance with financial statement submission requirements. The institutions in question are required to reimburse all enrolled pupils!

The government deregistered Damelin, Lyceum, and City Varsity colleges, leaving thousands of students in limbo. Higher Education Minister Dr. Blade Nzimande will inform the media this morning. Expert Jon Foster-Pedley provides insight.

Damelin College, CityVarsity, Lyceum Colleges, and Icesa City Campus have had their registrations revoked by the Department of Higher Education because they failed to comply with the legislation and provide yearly financial accounts for the years 2021 and 2022. Educor owns these private post-secondary educational establishments.

Regulations state that an institution must notify all students of its deregistration within 14 days and provide them with a transcript of their academic record. Students who are unable to get the education they have paid for must also be reimbursed.
