The Independent Electoral Commission to Disclose Political Party and Independent Candidate Lists For the May 29 General Election

The status of independent and political party candidate lists for the general elections on May 29th will be made public by the Independent Electoral Commission.

The objection period ended on Wednesday.

The commission will declare its ruling following its consideration of the concerns, along with the eligibility of the uMkhonto we Sizwe party, which was endorsed by former president Jacob Zuma.

According to the commission’s chairperson, Mosotho Moepya, individuals who are not South African, under the age of eighteen, or who are not registered to vote may be objected to.

“A nominee who neglects to submit the required acceptance of the nomination will not be permitted to participate in the election.
