According to Tshwane Metro on X, a trip at the Nyala in-feed station was caused by the fire at the Mooikloof substation.
The Mooikloof and Wapandrand supply districts’ electricity supply was impacted by the fire.
Pretoria East is encompassed by this in large part.
Early on Thursday morning, the City said that a team was looking into the damage and the reason. As soon as further information became available, a more thorough update was to be provided.
*At the time of publication, the City had not yet confirmed the duration of the fire or the extent of the damage. An estimated time frame for power restoration had also not been determined.
