Thursday’s Durban Magistrate’s Court Hearing Will Involve the Five Individuals Accused of Murdering Rapper Kiernan ‘aka’ Forbes and His Friend Tebello ‘tibz’ Motsoane.

Bail request for AKA and Tibz murder suspect to proceed

In the accused’s bail application, the state and the defense will present their final points of contention.

The main detective’s affidavit was combed through by the State, which is opposed to bail.

The document describes the accused’s purported involvement in detail using witness accounts, cell phone usage, and vehicle tracking.

According to Kumarasan Pillay, Mziwethemba Gwabeni, the fourth accused, received about R800,000 after the killings.

Businessman Mfundo Gcaba’s non-arrest has previously been questioned in the Durban Magistrate’s Court.

In the case of Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane, attorney Paul Jorgensen argued in court that Gcaba ought to be in the dock because he was the one who transmitted the money.

There have been suggestions that Gwabeni served as the paymaster, making sure that each person involved in the assassination got paid.

In February of last year, Forbes and Motsoane were shot and slain in front of a restaurant on Florida Road in Durban.

As they await extradition, two of the other accused parties in the case are scheduled to appear in court later this month at the Eswatini Magistrate’s Court.
