On December 22, 1981, in the Free State of South Africa, Tumi Morake was born. In 2000, she moved to Gauteng and enrolled at the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits University) to continue her studies in drama.

Tumi Morake is wed to fellow South African actress Mpho Osei Tutu. The pair, who met in 2000 while enrolled at the University of the Witwatersrand, is parents to three children.

During an interview on “Podcast and Chill,” Tumi opened out about the difficulties she faced with infidelity in her 21-year marriage in March of 2023.
