Two Boys  Ages Nine and Seventeen Killed in a Car Crash in Midrand

When paramedics arrived on the scene, they discovered that an SUV had flipped over following a collision with another car.
In a horrifying event in Midrand, a 9-year-old child and an adolescent have perished.

The accident is believed to have occurred on Saturday just before 5:00 p.m. on the N1 Southbound lane close to the Olifantsfontein turn-off.

According to Emer-G-Med spokesman Kyle van Reenen, when paramedics arrived at the Midrand incident, they discovered that an SUV had flipped over following a collision with another car.

Deaths

According to Van Reenen, some of the passengers were thrown from the car as a result of the rollover.

“Three kids were apparently taken to a neighboring hospital by onlookers before paramedics arrived. After being ejected from the vehicle, it was discovered that the seventeen-year-old male patient had suffered critical injuries. Sadly, the patient passed away from his severe injuries, and paramedics had to use a number of advanced life support resuscitation techniques before declaring him dead at the spot.

A nine-year-old child with deadly catastrophic injuries was discovered unconscious in the overturned vehicle after further inspection. He was pronounced dead at the site because paramedics were unable to save him, according to Van Reenen.

Accidents

Injured individuals were brought to hospitals for additional care, Van Reenen said.

Three people in the secondary vehicle and an adult male and female from the same vehicle also suffered moderate injuries; they were treated and stabilized on the spot before being taken to a local hospital.

“A South African Police Services (Saps) investigation will focus on the collision’s cause and the circumstances leading up to it,” Van Reenen stated.
