Western Cape School Admissions for Grades 1 and 8 Begin on Monday

The time for applying to schools for these important grades is scheduled to open on March 11 at precisely 00:01. It will end on April 12 at precisely 23:59.

Notably, Grade 1 and Grade 8 positions are the only ones served by this first round of school admissions.

However, from August 1 to August 16, there will be a second school admissions opportunity for parents looking to enroll their child in Grade R or transfer their child between Grades 2 through 7 and Grades 9 through 12.

Minister Maynier has emphasized how crucial it is that guardians and parents gather and verify the required paperwork well in advance of the start of the school admissions session.

Among these crucial certified documents are:

  • Final certified report card issued by the school
  • Identity verification Immunization record (for elementary schools)
  • Evidence of residency
