When choosing a candidate to support on May 29, South African voters are advised by President Cyril Ramaphosa to take into account the party’s track record in governing.

Although the ANC has a vision for South Africa, Ramaphosa has admitted that it could have done a better job.

On Friday night, he gave the keynote speech at a fundraising gala dinner held at the Gallagher Convention Center at Midrand.

“The election is an opportunity to turn our reflections on the future direction of the country into reality,” Ramaphosa stated.

As South Africans, we have the power to determine which course we follow and which political party possesses the necessary commitment and ability to follow this course.

As befits a healthy democracy, there is always a lot of noise, a wide range of opinions, and plenty of options during an election.

“We are a democracy seethed in the will of the people of South Africa, so this should never depress us.

“But if one looks beyond the noise, what stand out is the vision, experience and capabilities of the ANC,” said Ramaphosa.
