Murder Trial of Senzo Meyiwa Continues

The defense team continued cross-examining Mogola on Wednesday, focusing on the material they had collected throughout their investigation into Meyiwa’s murder and the connections between the five individuals in custody and the case.

Mogola disclosed that their findings suggested Kelly Khumalo, a musician and Meyiwa’s ex-girlfriend, was the architect behind the goalkeeper’s murder.

In a previous testimony, lead investigator Brigadier Bongani Gininda stated that Khumalo supposedly gave the five guys in the dock R100,000.

Additionally, Mogola disclosed that she is unsure of Khumalo’s status as the putative mastermind and that she is unaware of the existence of a draft application for an arrest warrant.

The allegations against the guys include attempted murder, planned murder, aggravated robbery, unlawful possession of guns, and ammunition possession. The five entered not guilty pleas.
