Lung cancer has been identified in UKhozi FM radio host, executive producer, and originator of the Crown Gospel Music Awards, Zanele Mbokazi.
On UKhozi FM’s breakfast show, Vuka Mzansi, on Wednesday, Zanele’s spouse, Bishop Mpendulo Nkambule, and the station’s business manager, Sbongi Ngcobo, made the announcement.
According to Nkambule, the family made the decision to disclose the diagnosis in response to widespread rumors on social media about Zanele’s poor health, which has caused her to disappear from the spotlight.
Eshilo, the station’s well-liked gospel program, is hosted by Mbokazi every Sunday from 9:00 to 12:00.
After S’bu Buthelezi left the station in June 2022—her contract was terminated—because she had brought the station into shame, she returned to work there last year.
According to Nkambule, Zanele became ill two weeks ago and was admitted to the hospital on Monday, April 29, as a result of her condition being worse. She had a little procedure last Friday because she was having breathing problems.
“During the operation, doctors discovered that Zanele has lung cancer, but through it all, we trust God,” Nkambule stated.
He begged for the family’s privacy, saying the diagnosis had left their kids and family broken.
“We are all still in shock – please continue praying for Zanele and afford the family privacy to deal with this difficult situation” .
Zanele posted a thank-you message on social media to her followers, calling the diagnosis the “toughest moment of my life”.
