Four Arrested in Centurion With R200k Worth of Bogus Fuel Goods

Four suspects in Centurion have been detained by police on suspicion of having counterfeit petroleum oil goods valued at R225,000.

The suspects and a shipment of over 3,000 liters of fake oil were discovered in a residential neighborhood.

According to Amanda van Wyk, a police spokesman, the accused should appear in court shortly.

They are going to be charged with breaking the Counterfeit Goods Act.

Van Wyk stated, “A team consisting of members from the National Counterfeit Unit and Commercial Crimes Investigations, in cooperation with brand protectors, operationalized information, according to a preliminary report.”

“The team went to the specified address in Monavoni, a suburb outside of Centurion, after obtaining a search and seizure warrant.

“Four Zimbabwean nationals were subsequently arrested by police; the Department of Home Affairs will confirm their residency status.”
